The real magic

A few days ago I was sharing a few of my favorite ways to use funded proposals to recruit people in a private and exclusive group and without a doubt there were more  than a few misconceptions about how to use funded proposals to recruit more people faster in your chosen company.

It was almost as if those in the group thought there was a “magic” way to recruit more people, and the truth is, there is, but it’s not where most people think it is, so if you’d like to add a little magic to your recruiting efforts where it counts pay close attention.

The Funded Proposal

Firstly, what is a funded proposal anyway?

Most people think it’s creating a product to sell, and if that’s what you think you’d be partially right.

Although creating your own information product IS a type of funded proposal, my own personal pragmatic definition is far wider.

In my opinion, adding a funded proposal aspect to your business is anything you do to make money now. Simple, yet powerful.

Selling products falls under this definition, BUT what about list building, realizing revenue via affiliate programs, Adsense, etc?

These are TYPES of funded proposals that most people miss out on and the reality it’s far easier to make money from the outset using multiple methods than it is to spend your time trying to create that ONE perfect product.

The Advantage

The advantage of having your own funded proposal in your business is simply that you make money now and there in lies the magic.

The more you make now the more leads you get tomorrow. The higher the probability you recruit more people with less resistance and with more ease.

Moral: Aggressively make money now and you win now and tomorrow. Pretty simple right?

Now that we’ve got that taken care, where most people in the group had distorted misconceptions about funded proposals lied in how to use them to grow their backend business opportunities . . . As if there was a special “magic” trick.

If we’re talking about the info product type of funded proposal the magic lies in no trick, here’s where it is.

I remember way back when I first started pondering push button recruiting I bought a product called “Network Marketing In The Internet Age” by a guy named Frank Garon. It was a 6 cassette course that I paid $197.

As soon that thing hit my doorstep I wore that sucker out. I had to have listened to it 40 times or more. It was a truly mind expanding experience for me. And well, about 6 weeks after purchase and listening through that sucker 40 times I mustered the courage to call the creator of the course, and I’m sure you can guess why . . .

To get involved in any opportunity he was in.

I found his number. I called it. He answered. I was floored that I was actually talking to the guy I had just listened to for the last six weeks. He was a cool guy. My first question?

How can I join your business? I was in, and there in lies more magic of info product funded proposals.

You’re not an expert before you create an info product as a funded proposal, you become an expert because you create one, and from there there are several ways to use that new customer trainer relationship to recruit more, and all are simple.

One thing I used to do was I would simply have a tagline at the end of my emails (just like this one you’re reading) that said “This is the opportunity that changed my life” and from there I would provide the link to my opportunity.

I didn’t even think about it, because my prospect saw my product which edified the recommendation and saw my opportunity they were more than curious about it. I recruit many a person that way.

Another simple way to recruit from a funded proposal is to simply use the last few pages of your info product to let your prospects know more about your opportunity in a no pressure way.

Yet another way to use your funded proposal to recruit is to simply recommend your opportunity on the thank you page after purchase. This method I haven’t used but have seen other good marketers use with great success.

Remember, your aggressive NOW profiting efforts position you to generate more leads and faster than the next guy. You’ve got an advantage. You’ve got your own captive audience.

It is there the magic lies, not some hypnotic phrase or trick only the gurus now. Just a word to the wise.

Get cheaper pay per click leads

Here’s how to get’em  . . .

Look past the surface. Most marketers (including yours truly for a time) make the critical mistake with pay click marketing of being lazy. What does it cost you?

Leads, profits, recruits, and control, but today I will share a simple quick and easy trick that will allow making sense of the crazy world that is pay per click marketing far simpler and get you cheaper leads as early as tomorrow if you use it.

Look Past The Surface

All you have to do is look past the surface and understand that those nameless clicks you see when you check your stats in your Adwords account are living breathing humans with names and faces just like you and I.

If you “get” what I just said you should then realize that not all clicks are created equal. You don’t want more clicks, what you really want are better clicks.

The guy searching for “network marketing” or ”home based business” isn’t really who you’re looking for. That person isn’t serious yet. They’re still trying to hammer out the basics.

The person that searches for phrases like ”Daegan Smith”, on the other hand, is exactly who you want to be in front of. Prospects that pay, join, and make a difference to your bottom line are looking for specific and in depth information and resources.

These people pull out the wallet often. So, instead of just thinking of the obvious keywords to try to obtain exposure for, take it a step further.

Sure . . . Go to google do a search for ”network marketing” but don’t use it as a keyword.

Instead search through the Google listings and look at the sites that come up. What names do you see? What products do you see mentioned? What other resource do ya find?

These are the $$ keywords. Use them instead to base your Google ads on and you’ll find far more success.

But you’re not done yet. Next go to the Google Keyword tool and see how many people search for these more specific keywords. A few hundred searches a month is plenty.

Also look for additional variations of those keywords that you wouldn’t have thought of. Take notes.

Finally go back to Google and do a quick Google search for these new specific keywords you’re finding just below the surface and look specifically for how many other advertisers are advertising. I would wager far fewer than that those generic keywords everyone else is advertising on.

Do you know what that’s called? Opportunity. Almost everyday I do this exact process and find keywords that are competition free, specific, and cheap. You will too, but here’s the REAL key.

Follow this process daily. You commit to this and you’ll find your pay per click advertising growing cheaper and your lead volume increasing steadily.

What if you spent 30 minutes a day doing a little research like this and found 3 keyword with little to no competition and then set up fresh ads on them? In a month, that’s 100 more places for prospects to find you.

What about after a year or if you found 6 keyword like this daily?

The sky is the limit when you know what to look for and have a little patience.

I’ve been in business online for awhile and when I first started, my biggest problem that held me back and frustrated me was not having a simple plan of action to follow. Month after month I would struggle and my family would ask, “how’d it go this month?” and I’d say, “next month is my month”.

I thought this guy was  full of “you know what” but what he talked about blew my mind.  It’s the real deal.

Not even Aladdin could have imagined the possibilities of today’s business models. Think about it: how else can you earn while doing nothing and still wake up everyday being a few dollars richer than you were the night before? Too good to be true? In some cases, it probably is but if you looked harder, there are certain steps you can take today that can help you realize a future where you will earn money while you sleep.  Pay close attention, here’s how:

Build or Join an Affiliate Marketing Program - Affiliate marketing programs are one of the fastest growing business models online. It is a very effective method of making money through the promotion of web businesses.

Bal-ance – to render equal in proportion; even distribution of weight or amount.

I am a huge proponent of balance, especially in the intangible activities of life.  I’m not exactly sure if my preference is due to how I was raised or if it is deeply embedded in the bowels of my genetic make up.  Whatever the impetus, I always strive to achieve balance.

Balance in life for me for the most part encompasses work, rest and play (although I have been sacrificing the latter two lately).  But I also strive to achieve an aesthetic balance in the tangible.  I want elements of the tangible to be tastefully pleasing to the eye.  For example, I simply can’t tolerate a room that is disheveled or has no flow.  What I mean is if the furniture is illogically placed or if things are scattered about, to me that room is out of balance.

Also, as I write this post, I want the end result to be…you guessed it, balanced.  I want what I share with you to be pleasing to the eye.

One of the main areas that probably 85% of the working population face is finding the right balance between work and personal life. The lines between the two are not always that distinct. According to personal coach and author of the very popular Now What?: 90 Days to a New Life Direction Laura Berman Fortgang, getting your priorities clear is essential.  It is the most important step toward achieving a well-balanced life.  What is key is to figure out what you want your priorities to be and not what you think they should be.

If you have been struggling to find balance between work and life try simplifying things a bit.  There is an innate tendency for us to take upon much more than we are reasonably capable of doing.

Here are the key principles that can provide a good place for you to start because without finding the right balance between work and your personal life, you could end up failing in both areas:

Set Physical Boundaries – Train yourself to shed off problems at work the moment you leave your office. Use the time you spend traveling home to get rid of residual stress. By the time you enter your home, you should have all your work problems shelved inside a drawer that you can only pull open when you go back to the office.

Balance is doing the same things about problems at home. Problems are better solved when you ponder them in appropriate settings. You should let your family and friends know that you find it easier to function if they’d wait for you to come home before telling you about any areas of concern. Of course, emergencies are an exception.

Manage Your Time Effectively – Time is the most precious commodity of all because it’s something you simply can’t buy. When yesterday gives way to tomorrow, you can never get it back. Therefore you must make full use of every moment of your time.

Balance is avoiding wasted time whether you are at work or at home. Similarly, avoid doing either excessively. You’ll be much happier if you’re able to satisfy your needs in both aspects of your life. Plans must be made early. Spontaneity is good once in a while,  but if you allow your impulses to rule your life entirely, things can become complicated.  Remember….equal proportions.

Enjoy Your Achievement – If you’ve achieved something at work, take the time to savor the pleasure of completing the task. After all, there’s no point in working hard for something when you don’t take the time to enjoy it’s rewards. Do the very same thing at home. If there’s something to be happy about, don’t let it pass you by,  celebrate.   For instance,  go out with your loved ones or reward yourself with a little treat like letting go of your strict diet regime for one day or take full advantage of a shopping spree.

Balance isn’t just something you can achieve by having a detailed schedule in your organizer. Balance is also a mental and emotional state: you need to make a conscious effort of alleviating your stress, relaxing yourself, and allowing yourself be happy whenever a milestone has been reached at work or being happy simply for the sake of being with your loved ones.

Know When To Quit – Giving up is not always a sin. If you’ve truly given your best, pushing yourself further could do you more harm than good.  This can happen at work or at home. Don’t work too hard. Don’t play too hard. There are people who have a difficult time quitting and if you’re one of them then you must make a concerted effort to find balance before you pay a dear price emotionally or physically.

Balance is also about knowing your limits. You can test them once in a while, but make sure you don’t go completely overboard.

Get A Life Coach – Last but not the least, if  you have tried everything and nothing has helped in your efforts to achieve work/life balance then maybe it’s time to employ the services of a life coach. A life coach is not necessarily a psychiatrist. This person is qualified to help you analyze your goals for life and attain them. If it’s balance you want then a life coach will certainly be more than happy to help you find it.

I consider myself to be somewhat successful.  Even though I have been knocked down (figuratively) a few times in the business, I have never failed to pick myself up and brush myself off.

Don’t hope for success – Create success
Don’t wait for a leader – Become the leader

Don’t watch others – Take action
Don’t chase friends – Show them what you do
Don’t chase prospects – Show them what you do
Don’t chase leaders – Show them what you do
Don’t chase anyone – Show them what you do
Don’t quit – Work harder

Don’t quit – Try again

Focus on and understand this last one especially because when you do, you will be well on your way:

When you don’t quit – You succeed.

Ever since I made the commitment to build my online business empire, I have been plagued by my inability to prioritize and master productivity.  Don’t get me wrong, I used to be productive (at times) but it came in fits and starts.  I was never in a state of “staying productive” ( This gave me a “guilt trip” like you would not believe).

The actions necessary in the process of solidifying your online business can’t be ignored.  Your responsibility is to bring more and more people into your organization on a continual basis at all times…period.  People are the lifeblood of your business and you seriously must take ownership of this philosophy.

How do you do this? Marketing, marketing and more marketing productively.

Now I must admit, I am better at staying productive than when I first started. What has made a HUGE difference for me is to get my act togethe,  prioritize and to adopt a plan.  A plan of marketing action and the hard-core discipline to stick with it.

But wait a minute….

We are only human right?  What I am understanding now is that it is impossible to stay productive all the time.  The human being although complex, was just not wired that way.  We were designed to work, rest and play. Before, I found myself scrambling (when I thought I was being productive) trying to do everything at once, not realizing at the time that I was undertaking tasks that just did not matter.

What came to fruition was the pragmatic understanding of what I call the “time flow” and that is time keeps on moving…it never stops.  The epiphany I had was the only control I have is how I spend that time.  What I realized was most advantageous was to  spend time on what matters most.  Upon having this epiphany, I am feeling much better about my productivity through prioritizing, but the key here is to spend time on what matters most.

How To Get Productive – Spend your time on what matters most

Although there is no exact science to prioritizing, here are a few simple hints that can help you understand how to prioritize and become more productive.

Make A List – We all know the real importance of making a list for productivity. Making a list of things that you must do can actually help provide you with a visual aid to help determine which tasks you should do first, and which ones you can do for later. When making a list, make sure that you list down all the important and crucial tasks that you need to accomplish and prioritize, as these are the ones that you must successfully accomplish. You actually don’t need to list down routine and menial tasks as these are things that you can do without on your list since you don’t necessarily need to be reminded to do them.

Consider The Constraints – Every task that you need to do involves its shares of constraints, so you need to consider all the things can actually impede the progress of your tasks. Figure out what limitations are present on every task that you need to accomplish, and factor those in on your decision.

The rule of thumb on this aspect is that you must always prioritize the ones that need to be done as soon as possible. Although all of your prioritized tasks are important, there are some things that are important to be accomplished now, which is why you should prioritize them over those that are important to be accomplished tomorrow or some other later time.

Also, you need to prioritize the tasks that other people might be waiting on in order for them to be able to accomplish their work. Don’t allow yourself to be the main cause for a work not to get finished simply because you were late in accomplishing your part of the job, thereby causing some delays on the work of others.

Be Flexible – Although having a list can help put your tasks in order, there are times that you may need to change your list of tasks and reprioritize your tasks, usually depending on the factors and changes that might have occurred. Just be prepared for some unexpected events and learn how to be flexible, as there is a very big chance that you might encounter some problems that will change your list of priorities.

Think Of The Consequences – The things that you decide to do can have an adverse or positive effect on your disposition, so make sure that you think about the consequences of your actions just to help you prioritize them even better. Keep in mind that choosing a task that will have an effect on your personal and professional life and career, like a job promotion, might be the better choice over a task that will only affect your personal life, such as choosing a tattoo design.

By simply following these tips, you should be able to prioritize your tasks better, and hopefully turn you into a more productive person in the process.
